Elderly Healthcare

Lebanon's Elderly Christians Are Being Left Behind

Isolated, forgotten, and unable to afford care, Lebanon's elderly Christian population faces a silent crisis. We help cover the medical costs they can no longer meet.

The Need

Why This Program Exists

Lebanon's healthcare system has all but collapsed. Hospitals demand payment in dollars. Medicine, most of it imported, has disappeared from pharmacy shelves or become unaffordable. For the elderly, who need consistent medication and regular medical attention, this is life-threatening.

Lebanon's elderly Christian population is uniquely vulnerable. Many live alone, their children have emigrated to escape the crisis. They have no savings left after the banking sector collapse wiped out their life's work. They live on pensions that are now worth less than $30 per month. They cannot afford a taxi to a clinic, let alone the clinic itself.

Our Elderly Healthcare Program works to ease that burden. Depending on what each case requires, support can go toward medical and insurance fees, prescribed medication, consultations, and other essential health-related costs. We work through trusted local partners and existing healthcare providers rather than duplicating services that already exist in the community.

Our Approach

How Your Donation Is Used

  • 1

Trusted community leaders and church figures identify elderly parishioners who are living alone and struggling to access medical care.

  • 2

Each senior's situation is documented through conversations with family members, community leaders, and the individuals themselves.

  • 3

Support is directed to the costs that matter most in that case, which may include medical or insurance fees, prescribed medication, or consultations.

  • 4

Where possible we coordinate with established healthcare providers already operating in the area, so that assistance complements existing services.

  • 5

Every case is recorded and reported, and family members abroad can be kept informed about their loved one's wellbeing.
