About the Area
Ain Ebel, Rmeish, and Debel are three border villages located in Southern Lebanon, within the Bent Jbeil district, along the southern frontier. These predominantly Christian villages are known for their strong social cohesion, deep-rooted traditions, and long-standing reliance on agriculture, small trade, and migration-based remittances.
Over the past years, these communities have been heavily impacted by recurrent conflicts affecting Lebanon's southern border. Despite the severity of the situation, these villages have stood as symbols of resilience, maintaining a degree of stability even as many surrounding villages were forced to evacuate.
Their ability to remain has come at a high cost: residents have endured prolonged exposure to insecurity, destruction of property, and the loss of livelihoods. Food security has been greatly impacted, with basic fruits and vegetables becoming unattainable while food aid remains sporadically delivered.
Each village has a distinct economic profile: Rmeish is more agriculturally active with larger farming areas, Ain Ebel has a mix of agriculture, services, and diaspora-supported households, and Debel relies more on small trade, local services, and remittances. Organizations like the Order of Malta provide essential healthcare services from their base in Ain Ebel.

Parish Coordination
Identification of all Christian churches in the villages of Rmeish, Ain Ebel, and Debel. Church leaders have been informed of CGA's mission and objectives, and partnerships are being established.

Community Engagement
On-the-ground coordination with community leaders, parish figures, and civil society organizations to identify and register all potential beneficiaries across the three villages.

Multi-Sector Needs Assessment
Each village is undergoing an individual needs assessment to analyze and prioritize the most pressing requirements across basic needs, education, and elderly healthcare.

Beneficiary Registration
A structured beneficiary register is being compiled for each village, documenting family size, location, primary needs, and urgency level to guide aid deployment once funding is confirmed.

School Dropout Mapping
A focused sub-assessment is identifying children across the three villages who are facing difficulties paying school fees or are at risk of dropping out entirely.

Elderly Mapping
Documentation of elderly residents across the villages who require medical support or assistance covering the cost of healthcare services.
Planned Interventions
All of CGA's core programs will be deployed across the Southern Lebanon cluster.
Basic Needs
Monthly essentials for families with zero or near-zero income, addressing the severe deprivation caused by conflict disruption and economic collapse.
Education Support
School fee coverage and supply kits for children at risk of dropping out due to their families' inability to pay.
Elderly Healthcare
Help with medical and insurance fees, medication, and other health costs, coordinated with local healthcare providers such as the Order of Malta.
